Best Thriller Novels

The Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child

Great novel by great authors. The duo are very good at narration and can create a scene very realistically in front of the readers. The Relic is a very engrossing read and even scary at times. The story revolves around some inhuman killings in US Museum of Natural History, by a killer unknown. It lurks somewhere in the alleys and cul de sacs of the museum. The whole story then traces to a failed expedition (all dead) of some scientists to recover some old artifacts. Suddenly everyone seems to recognize that the enemy is something extremely sinister and ruthless that thought earlier.
An edge of the seat thriller.

Best Thriller Novels

1984 by George Orwell

This one is a classic. I am ashamed of calling it a thriller, but I can't help it. It gave me the creeps...
It was story written in 1947, in the post world war era. It was quite a gloomy world then -- the constant fear of sinister fascism and nazism, degeneration of communism into a stifling and ruthless force, the apprenhension of imminent wars between world powers etc. looming large over it. 1984 shows us what would have happened if all those fears would have come true.

The world in 1984 is a world controlled by three powers -- Oceania, Eurasia and Eastasia. The main protagonist Winston Smith belongs to Oceania. Oceania has a corrupt fascist government controlled by leader called Big Brother. No one knows who Big Brother is, whether he is alive or not, nut all they know is that Big Brother means power. The govt is a group of people which has control over the common man. Personal life doesn't exist because everything is constantly monitored. Love is a sin. Children implicate parents. Literature is gone. All that is left is madness, jingoism and ruthlessness. Everything is an illusion . People can vanished by the govt and all records of their existence can be effaced.
Winston Smith slowly finds life and a love. And then he starts questioning all he had been made to believe. He joins a rebel group and gets into it deeper and deeper, till he finds out that it was a conspiracy itself. A very thought provoking and pathetic end awaited him.

This shold be one of the most important books you will ever read in your life... And suddenly you will find that you live in a really safe world as compared to people in North Korea, Germany of past.

Best Thriller Novels

PHANTOMS by Dean Koontz

Now that is what I call a great sci-fi cum horror novel.

The town Snowfield is in the grips of a deadly and extremely evil force. It has become a graveyard, with the evil force waiting eagerly for preys unfortunate enough to set their foot in the town. Two sisters come into the town -- only to find an eerie silence in the streets -- the silence of death. Then -- the action starts with a bang! Police force comes in, army comes in, UFO specialists and pathologists come in -- all having their own theories of the ghastly killings. But everyone starts getting wiped out one by one. They don't know what lurks in the underground of the city -- something extremely sinister, something very cunning, something which they can never beat. It's a race against time and an edge of a seat thriller. Darkness was never more scarier. I slept with my lights on and with a constant look at my windows...

Extremely good read!!!

Is Love A Limit for Those Who Think Beyond Limits

Have you ever fallen in love??? ... It's a wonderful feeling .. isn't it !!!! After all we feel as if we have got whatever we ever wanted. We find all our dreams and our needs answered in the most beautiful set of three words ever formed--- I Love You.
Well there have been billions of people who have expressed their views on love... And every one knows what happens when we fall in love.
Lets take an altogether different path now...
Let me tell what not to do when you think you have fallen in love:
1. Never lose your sense of individuality...
Now what does that mean? Have you ever herad the story of the man who killed his golden-egg laying goose. If you have, then just add a simple contrast. Your individuality, your sense of being yourself is the golden-egg laying goose and when you stop being yourself, you kill the goose. When Alec Smart stops acting like Alec Smart and starts imitating John, the next door hero, just because 'she' likes it... he's lost the duration of his love affair by decades(if not years)

2. Stop Sacrificing Yourself Beyond Your Limits
Now you must have begun thinking that I am the villain of any beautiful love story. After what's wrong with sacrifice? But mark my words... "Beyond your limits"
Alas!!! Life is not a romantic movie where you go on sacrificing, shedding tears and showing silent gestures, and at last the one you love comes to "know" about your sacrifices ...and finally you win your love. Practically, life and love's all about playing your cards well. You need to show your sacrifices(though indirectly) and walk as a live billboard with your sacrifices written all over it. But, don't stretch yourself beyond your limits... because human beings are really cruel... they will remember your faults, but never your sacrifices.

3. Always Remain The Same Hi-Flier You Were Before "Falling" In Love
Haven't you heard of the story of a friend of your friend.... who was sooo good, so eligible, so talented and so ... whatever, who fell in love... and then failed... and is now not so good, not so eligible, not so talented and not so... whatever. Got the point!!! The problem was that this friend of your friend forgot to maintain his oh-so-good position once he fell in love. So if you are a good player, a good writer, good at studies, a good entertainer etc.... always remain one no matter who comes into your life. And even if you feel a bit depressed (if at all you lose) just be flexible enough to revert to your Hi-Flier Zone.

4.Never Forget Your Old Friends
Now that needs no explanation. Scuba divers never move far away from where they jump in. After all who will help them out. Love is the ocean. Period.

5. Add New Points To This Long List
Hey I am not a frustrated guy who has written all this about love. Love is now general knowledge. But you can always force your answers on anyone with your own arguments. So please argue. And don't forget to make this list longer.
"Better Safe Than Worry"

This article was written in a lighter mood. Don't panic... Love is wonderful.. if you are noy wonderfool!!!
